I call it amazing. It calls itself Fat Princess.

I decided to change the name of this weekly post from ‘fuck this job’ Fridays to ‘fuck that’ Fridays. Originally this was reserved for my “thank god the work week is over” rants. The reason I changed it is simple. For one, I don’t have an official ‘job’ anymore, and for two, there are a lot more things to be frustrated with at the end of the week.

I just touched down at Reagan National Airport after a long day and I’ve got a few middle fingers to toss out. The first one goes to the Fairfield Inn & Suites. Miscommunication on their part led to aa lot of reservation-based lameness that eventually got worked out due to me having supportive relatives on my side. The second one goes to myself. Miscommunication on my part with my ride led to me not catching my flight on time. Oh well, it happens. I wasn’t mad that I had to catch a later flight but I was definitely angry that someone went out of their way to make sure I had a ride to the airport early as hell and I gave them bad directions. The third one goes to United Airlines. Catch up with me 2 lines below…

Ok. Lets pick up where we left off. These people are so ridiculous that I had to start a new paragraph. They do get brownie points for letting me take a later flight hassle-free. However, those brownie points turned to shit in a matter of minutes. After getting comfortable in my window seat near the emergency exit (sweet view and extra leg room) I realized that it was hot as hell and we weren’t moving. We sat in the plane for a good 45 minutes before we were told that the plane was having problems with one of their generators and that it would be in our best interest to get on the standy list for the next flight. Due to my eagerness to get the hell out of the airport, I spoke to customer service on the phone and had a seat on the next plane before other people were even done exiting ours. Too early to celebrate. Once again I was allowed to board the plane and wait 45 mins in faulty air conditioning because THE PILOTS WEREN’T THERE YET! Ahhhhh. I do have to give them one thing though (besides the finger)…the entertainment game was on point. I got to watch episodes of The Office, Monk, and Psych while I was on the plane. If they would’ve given me a free sandwich or something we would’ve been the best of friends.

Long story short: Don’t overexert yourself planning out every little detail of your trip because at the end of the day all you can do is buy your tickets and pray that they don’t fuck up. Also, this probably doesn’t effect any of you but every single time I’ve stayed at a hotel or motel located on a ‘North Avenue’ I’ve always regretted it. Just sayin’ though…

DSxDC Coming Soon

Nope. Don’t start expecting anything to regularly happen on Wednesdays, I just missed new shit Tuesday because I’ve been busy preparing for my trip back home to DC. Washington motherfuckin’ DC. I also had issues with getting my video camera to work because it had an unresponsive LCD touchscreen so all of the necessary functions (stop, rewind, pause, play, etc) were inaccessible. I actually fixed it last night by dropping it on the floor several times so now we’re back in business. This camera’s lasted me since my freshman year and its been through a ton of shit. Hopefully it works during Otakon. I’ll try not to be a douchebag and accidently record over the footage again this year. I cry a little bit inside everytime I think of it. If you saw some of the shit I saw you’d know why, haha. Anyways, aside from that, here’s what I forgot to post yesterday:

Today, lets switch things up a little bit. I feel like a parent for being the one to bring this shit up all the time but somebody has to. Drinking is cool, I drink sometimes, I’ve been drunk before. But I’m starting to feel like 90% of the people I know are 2 drinks away from being hardcore alcoholics. I don’t understand it. Maybe its because I can have fun without it. Maybe its because I’m from a place where theres other ways to keep myself entertained. Maybe its because I’m comfortable enough in my own skin that I don’t need an alter ego to make friends with when I go out. Maybe its because its too expensive of a habit, who knows. But I’d like to dedicate the following video to all those people that “need to wind down after a rough day”…of getting paid for a job that takes little to no effort or brainpower. Here are a few people that get trashed to the fullest, only difference being they have real stress to deal with, like..ya know…the whole world watching their every move:

In case anyone has been wondering about updates there have been a few. I haven’t been making many blog posts lately, mainly because I’ve been watching ‘The Wire’, but there HAVE been updates, you must’ve just overlooked em. Check out the M.I.A concert review and the Filf Dos interview if you haven’t already.

Currently got a few things in the works. I was working on the party etiquette and the new “Thats What She Said” simultaneously when I realized that it would probably be more effective to save the party etiquette (DS College Survival Guide #1) article until the fall semester started up. You’ll thank me the next time you go to a house party. Anyway, new “Thats What She Said”, and a suprise coming up before the end of this month.

As for the rest of the summer, I’m going back to the east coast in August. I will also be attending Otakon again this year too so expect Otakon 2008 footage/photos mid august as well as whatever tom foolery me and my boys get involved in while I’m back.
